East Grand Rapids hosted a four team tournament Saturday at Gainey Athletic Complex.
EGR matched up against Kelloggsville in game one, taking them all seven innings for a back and forth match-up, eventually taking the lead for good in the third inning.
Bridget Hollen led the way offensively for the Pioneers with four hits and four RBIs. Micah Britton also recorded four hits and Rossell with three. Stafford and Hackney combined for five more RBIs. Laura Hurlburt had three quality at bats reaching base four of her five at bats and eventually crossing the plate four times in the game. Elise Rossell added three hits and Isabel Walker two hits of her own as well. Rossell also had four stolen bases.
Defensively, Britton had an assist and two put outs at third base. Stankewicz gathered the win in the circle, with the help of great defense behind her with eight ground outs and four fly outs.
