Dexter High School
East Grand Rapids High School
East Grand Rapids made a valiant effort against a very skilled Dexter squad Saturday on Mehney field, but the Dreadnaughts came away with a 4-0 victory.
Dexter scored three goals in the first half and added one more after intermission. The Dreadnaughts fired seventeen shots at Pioneer goalie Kate Geller during the game. Geller made several terrific saves but Dexter had too many chances. East Grand Rapids managed only four shots on the Dreadnaught cage in the game.
“Dexter moved the ball very nicely on offense,” East Grand Rapids coach Ingrid Fournier said after the game. “We got a few fast breaks and played pretty solid the last part of the second half but we were unable to put the ball in the net.”
